Our stately Cape Dutch period house has a steep fynbos hillside back garden, is set on a quiet private road, and is just 10 minutes from the heart of Johannesburg. It has open fires, 4 en-suite bedrooms, a tennis court, a swimming pool and 1 acre of indigenous garden, and is a warm and welcoming home. We are close to places of entertainment, and the stadia for the 2010 soccer World Cup are an easy drive away on our excellent Johannesburg road system.
Westcliff is a leafy, secure suburb of large period houses (built by the Randlords of the early days of Johannesburg). Security is good, with a dynamic police station nearby, and good private security companies patrolling the streets. Public transport stops close to our entrance, and we are close to all amenities. Shops, garages and public library are close by.
I am a counselling psychologist and artist working from home, my husband is an actuary with an asset management company. We are both in our 50's. Our sons are young adults, one still at home. We are interested in classical music, theatre, art and literature. We speak English, French and a little Afrikaans.
