Acerca de nuestra casa

We live in a modern house built in traditional Gozo stone on the rim of a valley so the views are amazing across the valley and down to the sea. The top bedroom has been fitted out as a self-contained space with a good sized balcony and a shared kitchenette and eating area, originally set up for one of our children. Now you can enjoy the fantastic sunset. We might be in residence in the rest of the house if we are not travelling ourselves and there is a shared entrance to the house.

Where is it?

Close to a bus stop, minimarket and a good restaurant which has a good vegan menu (all within 5 minutes walk). There are nice walks straight from the front door and the seaside bay of Marsalforn is just down the road or you can go up to Xaghra centre where there are also plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars. So a great location in Gozo.

Restaurantes llenos de vida
Marsalforn has quite a few good restaurants but our favourites are Tmun and Brookies if you wan to go upmarket or typical Gozitan restaurants we rate are D Bar and Rexys
Bares fantásticos
Royal Lady in Mgarr or there is a good mix of pubs, music bars and cocktail bars in Marsalforn
Cafetería hogareña
Xaghra Square has several but our favourites are in St Georges Square in Victoria. The restaurant near the house does a great coffee too if you don't want to go far
Terapia de compras
The Craft Village is great for filigree silver, lace, glass, leather and pottery. Otherwise there are several small shopping malls in Victoria
Un toque de cultura
Ggantija Temples in Xaghra is a UNESCO world heritage site, there is also a windmill. There are lots of music events and most are free. There are summer festa in most villages with food, drink music and fireworks. In Victoria is a large Arabic Citadel which the Knights of St John maintained to defend the island which has won awards. The views are stunning
Paseos por el parque
Only one real park in Victoria but who needs it when you have the countryside and seascape here which is hard to beat
Un poquito de ejercicio
Lots of marked walking trails - a few are relatively flat but most involve hills. The diving around the island is fantastic. Horse riding, segways tours, swimming and boating are all available
Un viajecito de un día
Malta to Valletta, especially the Co-Cathedral which is stunning
