Beautiful house in downtown Reykjavik.

Our fantastic house was built in 1880 and we are in the slow process of rebuilding it. It is located in downtown Reykjavik - just 200 meters from the central point. The house is our pride and joy. A bit unorthodox and has been featured in interiors magazines. The location couldn´t be better and everything you need is within a walking distance. The city center 200 meters from the house where all the best restaurants and shops are. The neighborhood is the oldest in Reykjavik with a lot of old beautiful houses. If you are interested in travelling around Iceland it is easy enough to organize. Day tours are available and the buses stop really close by. If you are interested in travelling on your own (which is really easy) we have a Land Rover that is an excellent car to travel in. Also there are loads of travel company´s that arrange private tours where they would pick you up at the house. Location wise the house is perfect and even though it´s in the center it´s relatively quiet except on friday and saturday night when the locals go out. But it´s just average city noise. If you are interested in Iceland this house offers the perfect setup and we can help with all arrangements to make sure that you make the most of your trip.

We bought the house in 2012 and it was in a pretty bad shape - although very well built. We have been renovating it ever since and trying to stay as true to the origin as possible. My husband is a chef so the kitchen is fantastic - but only sutable for tall people (I´m not kidding. He made it extra tall since he´s 1.94 m.) There is a small garden behind the house but in Iceland we rarely eat outside. We had a fantastic summer last year (weather wise) and ofcourse we hope that we´ll have the same luck this year.

Iceland is a breathtaking country with it´s amazing nature, open wilderness, space and fresh clean air.

Everything you need is within a walking distance. Grocery store, banks, restaurants, cafe´s, shops, Harpa concert hall, city hall, city pond etc.

We have a cat and it would be perfect if you could feed her while you´re in the house.
