RURAL LOCATION ONLY 50 MINUTES FROM REYKJAVIK !
Berjaholt is a unique period cottage situated in a rural area of amazing landscape and views.The house sits on flat land facing mountain Ingolfsfjall and you also have mountain Burfell by our doorstep wich is good for hiking and enjoying the great all around view .
Tvo beautiful creeks join onto one just a few steps from the cottage .In summer the stream decreases (depending on sun or rain ) ,wich makes it perfectly safe for kids to wade and even catch small fish.
.There´s a great open air pool ,gym & sauna at Borg, as well as a small grocery shop/gas station.(9 km. )
The nearest town is Selfoss at 18 km. distance.At Selfoss there are 4 super markets ,Kronan , Bonus, Netto and Samkaup . (Netto and Samkaup are more expensive )
You’ll find fast food restaurants like KFC ,Subway and Dominos at Selfoss as well . (They’re located by the bridge as you enter the town so you wont
miss it! ) .
Selfoss has an ATM/ bank ,a health care center/hospital and World Class ,the most popular gym in Iceland.
You will feel right at home in our cosy cottage , it has a really relaxing atmosphere.
We’ve done a major renovation in 2017-18 on the cottage. We’ve added 20 sqmts. for a proper dining area ,new kitchen units, high quality appliances ,Smeg cooker/oven ,Samzung refrigerator/freeser, a wood burning stove and repainted interior/exterior.
Major sight seeing spots are close by ; 30 min. to Thingvellir national park ,45 min. to Geysir and Gulfoss.
Further on you have easy access to amazing sights like Seljalandsfoss ( waterfall ) ,Skógar/Skógafoss ,Vik í Mýrdal ,Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Jokulsarlon (glacier lagoon ), and Landmannalaugar .Reykjavik with all it's great restaurants and shops are only an hour away.
