Our flat is a nice spacious family home. We renovated it mid-2010 and it is very comfortable.
It has 1 master bedroom with a double bed (140cm), 1 bedroom with a double bled (160cm) and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds which have each an extension to pull out for another person. For babies we also have 1 travel bed. There is 1 bathroom with Jacuzzi and shower and a separated WC. The kitchen, dining room and living room are all in a huge open room. From the living room, a sliding door gives way to the double bedroom.
It's a ground floor apartment with direct access from the terrace to the front community garden, and there is another community garden in the backyard.
Garage underground the building is also available.
“Este verano hemos estado en Viena una semana en casa de Lydie, resulto una estancia muy agradable, comoda y a pesar de estar en las afuera de la ciudad muy bien comunicada tanto en autobus, como metro y tren a unos diez minutos. La casa esta situada en una zona residencial, tranquila y acogedora. Es un joven matrimonio muy agradable, simpaticos. En el intercambio fueron muy respetuosos con el cuidado de la casa. Tienen una casa muy interesante para conocer Viena.”
We are Wolfram and Lydie, a Austrian/French couple in our early 40s. We have 2 children (8 and 6 years old). We are both economists working in the financial sector.
We both love travelling (and travelled a lot) and want to transmit it to our children. We are very excited in exchanging home.
We have made so far 10 exchanges and all went really well. We are already looking forward organizing our next exchange!
We are tidy and clean and we will take good care of your house like we expect you will take care of ours.
Area
The flat is situated in a residential green area of Vienna, very close to the castle of Schönbrunn, ancient home of "Sissi" with huge gardens, glass houses and the famous zoo.
There is a small hill (Roterberg) 5 mns walking distance where kids do sledging in winter and where you can take sun baths in summer, do pick-nicks, there are also 2 children playgrounds.
Supermarkets, bank, restaurants, playgrounds and other amenities are max. within 10 minutes walking distance.
Transport
The city center can be reached in approx. 20 minutes by subway. The subway can be reached by walking (12 mn), by bus (4mn) and by tram (6mn).
Subway goes also directly to the Schönbrunn Castle, to the famous "Naschmarkt", to the Opera and to the train station with direct connection to the airport with the 'CAT' train.
We are 35 mn drive by car from the Airport.
Skiing
Ski resorts can be reached in approx. 1 hour by car / 1,5 hours by bus.
Eastern and Central Europe
From Vienna, you can explore easily some of the nearby countries' capitals, there are direct trains for Bratislava (1h), Budapest (3h) and Prague (4h).
