Three storey terrace, with sunny tiled living area leading to a grass courtyard with a small garden.
The main bedroom is on the top floor, with a king size bed and an ensuite. The second level has two bedrooms (one with a queen bed, the other a single) and a bathroom. The bedrooms have polished wooden floors.
The ground floor is open plan, with living, dining, kitchen and laundry. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances.
The stairs make our house unsuitable for the elderly and for younger children. Older children, from say about 8 years old, would be OK.
The streetscape is dominated by large plane trees.
Wireless internet access is available.
Currently I do not have a car, so no car exchange is possible. Public transportation is close by,
This is a quiet residential area, but so close to everything, and we love living in this highly sought after area in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.
We are a few minutes walk to the train station at Edgecliff, over which is a shopping centre for all the basics, to local eateries, and to the harbour. One train station away at Bondi Junction is a major shopping mall, and the bus to the nearby Eastern Suburbs beaches.
In the other direction, we are two train stations (8 minutes) from the centre of the city, or a half hour walk. Being close to transport, you will not need a car to see the highlights of Sydney, far better to catch the train, bus or ferry.
There is a park at the end of our street, with an oval and surrounding parkland, and a harbourside park is close by if you like to walk or visit a cafe by the water with the harbour bridge in view.
Our street is a cul-de-sac, so very quiet. There is parking usually available in our street if you decide to hire a car.
Tennis courts and lawn bowls are a short walk.
If you are a sailor, the Cruising Yacht Club on the harbour foreshore is a 10 minute walk, put your name down to crew on a race.
This is an older part of Sydney that has gone through gentrification, and much of it consists of traditional terrace houses.
We can recommend the local eateries only a few minutes minutes walk from our house.
If you like nightclubs, they are in the adjoining suburbs.
Plus a little about me:
I am in my sixties, female, divorced, well educated, and recently retired from a full-time job at a local university, making it possible to travel more and be more flexible with dates.
A friend or relative may travel with me, but I often travel on my own.
I have always lived in Australia, so only speak English.
I have one cat, which you would need to agree to nurture.
If I am away when you visit, my son will meet you to settle you in.
Twelve exchanges completed so far, and references can be provided if required.
I remain keen to do one or two each year, flexible on destination, though in April to November 2013 I will be travelling around Australia in my motorhome.
