Tasmania is known for it's natural beauty and clean air. A photographers dream. There is also an abundance of fresh seafood, lamb, beef and locally grown produce. Tasmania is becoming known as a producer of great wines. The east coast is known for its natural beauty and some of the best beaches in the world (Wineglass Bay), with Hobart, Maria Island (just off the coast of Spring Beach), the Tasman Peninsula and Freycinet Peninsula all an easy day trip from Spring Beach. Frequent sightings of dolphins and occasionally whales from the deck of the house and in the bush other animals such as wallabies, kangaroos and wombats and of course the large variety of bird life.
If you truly wish to get away, then this is the place for you.
In Australia’s smallest state, remote rain forests, secluded beaches, and more than 200 vineyards are accessible by foot. Tasmania’s mild, maritime climate and compact size (comparable to West Virginia) make this heart-shaped island 150 miles (240 kilometers) off the Australian mainland a year-round destination for walkers and hikers of all ages, interests, and fitness levels.
Every two years Tasmania hosts Ten Days on the Island international arts celebration during March/April, an event that features nearly 500 artists in 111 venues.
Hobart (one hour from Spring Beach) is the finish of the world famous Sydney/Hobart Yacht Race and the Taste of Tasmania festival which is run at the same time.

“Caroline made me feel very welcome. Spring Beach is a beautiful place located opposite Maria ‘s island . The house is very nice and cosy . We had our breakfasts and dinners on the terrace facing the beach . We tooks days trips to Maria Island, Freycinet and Port Arthur. There are also many very nice walks to be done near by. We are grateful to Caroline and Andrew as we had an amazing stay at Spring Beach! ”
