Large 2 storey home with balcony overlooking Australia's largest coastal lake. Our home has a boatshed, jetty and a small private beach. It sleeps 10 in 2 queen size bedrooms, 2 double bedrooms and the 5th bedroom has 2 single beds. There are 3 bathrooms and two living areas, one upstairs and one down, and a TV/computer/reading room: all set in 1300 m2 of terraced gardens; much of this area overlooks the lake. You have a choice of 3 outdoor table settings on 3 terraces to sit and enjoy the views. Internet access is available throughout the house. There is a second small kitchen downstairs, and a barbecue on the upstairs balcony.

Shops, restaurants and bowling club with bistro, are within walking distance. The vineyards, wineries, restaurants and galleries of the Hunter Valley are 40 minutes away. Newcastle with its beaches, restaurants, concerts, theatres and art galleries are 30 kms. away. Sydney is a 90-minute drive south. Newcastle airport, one hour away, provides services to all capital cities as well as the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coasts in Queensland.

We both work in schools; he is a School Principal and she a School Counsellor, with grown-up children. Our interests include travel (naturally), bushwalking, sailing, cycling and paddling surf skiis. We enjoy the lifestyle we have here because we are out of the city, but still close enough to have easy access to the whole range of cultural activities that both cities offer (Sydney and Newcastle). We are willing to exchange cars - ours is a 2004 Toyota Corolla sedan - and 2 bikes. A 7 mtr. sailing boat (a Bluebird) is available to experienced sailors.
