Our home is a four bedroom, single story brick house on a quiet circuit in a quiet suburb close to parks, bike paths and one block from a grocery store that meets all your grocery needs. The street is situated in an outermost suburb of Canberra on the north west side looking out over the Brindabella ranges. One of the best things about the location is our fantastic retired neighbours on both sides. We all look out for each other as well as each others houses.
The house is a very comfortable home with four good size bedrooms, two living areas and a patio area for outside dining. The patio is a great area all year round for barbeques and before dinner drinks and nibbles. The garden is beautifully green and lush with well established flowering plants and small fruit trees as well as small areas of lush green lawn. Its not difficult at all to maintain, just turn on the watering system occasionally in summer.
Whilst the house is located in an outer suburb of Canberra, it is still only 20 minutes into the heart of Canberra and 30 minutes from the airport.
Canberra is a fantastic city which is many ways is just like a big country town. It has everything that a big city has to offer, without the queues and the traffic jams and peak hour. There a numerous national galleries, museums and attractions to visit as well as scenic mountain and lake views and top quality dining. Visit http://www.visitcanberra.com.au for more information on all that Canberra has to offer.
We have lived in Canberra now for 8 hours and one of the things we love the best about Canberra is the numerous events and performances that are held here in the national capital, many of which are absolutely free. A few to research include: Floriade, Enlighten, Stage 88 concerts and opera, events at the Botanical Gardens and the Arboretum, Skyfire, Canberra Balloon Spectacular, National Folk festival, National Multicultural festival, International Music festival, ANZAC day dawn service and ceremony, Australia Day in the park, AFL and Rugby games, and more.
Canberra is 2.5 hours drive from the ski slopes at Perisher and Thredbo which in Australian terms is just a hop, skip and a jump away. Sydney is also 2.5 hours drive and so is the beautiful south east coast which boasts wonderful beaches, fishing, whale watching and anything else you could wish for.
